Start with the help you want.

Choose Cladwell if…

You would rather start with familiar catalog pieces than photograph everything, then use daily outfits and chat to make more of that closet. On iPhone and iPad, color analysis and the Style Quiz add a way to explore what you like.

Consider Acloset if…

You want to investigate importing purchases or recognizing clothes in existing photos. Acloset documents retailer and email imports, multi-item recognition, image cleanup and an AI stylist. See Acloset’s offering.

Both offer outfit suggestions, stylist chat and virtual try-on. Acloset also advertises color analysis. We do not treat those features as unique to Cladwell or claim one app’s results are more accurate without a common test.

A closet you can start using.

Cladwell’s 15,000-item clothing catalog gives you a way to start without taking a photo of every piece. Choose an image that represents something you own, use a product link, or add a personal photo when the exact detail matters.

A catalog equivalent is useful for everyday basics. It may not capture the print, texture, cut or shade of your exact garment. You can combine catalog pieces with personal images rather than commit to one method for the whole closet.

Cladwell has been helping people make more of their wardrobes since 2016. That history is a reason to consider it; the useful test is still whether it helps you wear your clothes. Explore the current app.

Start with how your clothes are recorded now

A drawer of everyday basics, a folder of order confirmations and a camera roll of outfit selfies are three different starting points. The most useful import method depends on which one resembles your closet. An impressive import feature only saves effort if it works with your actual records.

Try this before moving your whole closet

Try a basic T-shirt, a patterned item and an older purchase. Check the image, category and color after saving. If testing purchase imports, check supported stores and permissions before connecting anything.

Coming in Cladwell 6.0

Forthcoming on iPhone and iPad. These are planned release features, separate from what you can download today. Availability depends on the released version, plan and rollout; Android timing may differ.

A new way to build outfits
Create and adjust looks from your closet, get suggestions and use an inspiration photo as a starting point.
More control over clothing photos
Improve photo offers AI cleanup for a clearer background, more even light and a straightened garment. Compare the result, choose it or keep the original. Background removal and replacing a photo are separate options.
A capsule plan you can use
Build a capsule roadmap around your style and needs, see outfit formulas and color roles, and turn the plan into a capsule in your closet.
Help with the pieces still missing
Explore suggested pieces and product options, with brands and budget settings to guide the search.
A closer look at your wardrobe
Ask styling questions from an item, explore closet insights and see AI usage in Settings.

These additions build on Cladwell’s existing catalog, outfit suggestions, stylist chat and wear tracking. A cleanup preview is an AI-generated image; check that it still represents your garment.

Costs and devices.

Cladwell

Cataloging your closet is free. Web subscriptions to Your Stylist cost $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (USD). Your Stylist adds paid styling guidance. Web purchases do not include a free trial. In-app prices and trial offers may differ by platform, region and eligibility. Check your purchase screen for the price, trial and cancellation terms that apply to you. Existing subscribers keep their current terms.

AI-powered features may have usage limits, including stylist chats, new outfit ideas, virtual try-ons, and recognizing clothes you add. Any allowance and reset details will be explained in your plan or in the app.

Acloset

Acloset’s support page says the free closet holds up to 100 items, with a subscription required beyond that. Confirm the current subscription price and feature allowances in your app and region.

Acloset supports iOS and Android. Its Chrome extension lets existing users add shopping-page items and browse their closet or wishlist on a computer.

Check Acloset’s current offering and Cladwell’s plan details. Compare the features and allowances you will actually use, not just the headline price.

Where Acloset may be better.

Start with Acloset if its supported imports solve your biggest setup problem. Start with Cladwell if selecting catalog equivalents is more comfortable and you want its particular approach to daily guidance. We have not measured which app is faster or produces better images.

You do not need to rebuild a working digital wardrobe just because another app has launched something new. Try a small selection first. Check how you can preserve your records before canceling or deleting an existing account; this guide does not promise a direct transfer between apps.

Sources and approach.

This is a comparison published by Cladwell, one of the products discussed. It uses the official product pages and support documentation below, checked October 19, 2026, plus Cladwell’s product documentation. We have not conducted a hands-on comparison of setup speed, image quality or outfit quality. Recommendations describe who each approach may suit.

Cladwell 6.0 is forthcoming and is labeled that way throughout. Competitor features, prices and availability can change. A feature not mentioned here should not be read as a feature the other app lacks.
