The outfit-app guide

Cladwell vs Indyx

Choose Cladwell if you want an AI stylist for everyday outfit questions. Consider Indyx if you want to choose and book a human stylist to create looks from your wardrobe.

Start with the help you want.

Choose Cladwell if…

You want to ask a question as it occurs to you, explore your colors and style, and get outfit ideas from clothes you already own. Cladwell’s styling is AI-powered; a subscription is not a booking with a human stylist.

Consider Indyx if…

You want a person’s judgment and a defined styling service. Indyx connects your digital wardrobe with human stylists, alongside tools for organizing it yourself. See Indyx’s offering.

Both begin with your own wardrobe. Indyx also supports manual outfit planning, capsules and wear tracking. Wanting to buy less is not a benefit exclusive to Cladwell.

A closet you can start using.

Cladwell’s 15,000-item clothing catalog gives you a way to start without taking a photo of every piece. Choose an image that represents something you own, use a product link, or add a personal photo when the exact detail matters.

A catalog equivalent is useful for everyday basics. It may not capture the print, texture, cut or shade of your exact garment. You can combine catalog pieces with personal images rather than commit to one method for the whole closet.

Cladwell has been helping people make more of their wardrobes since 2016. That history is a reason to consider it; the useful test is still whether it helps you wear your clothes. Explore the current app.

A quick question or a considered wardrobe refresh?

For an upcoming trip, you might want several quick conversations as your plans change. Or you might want to hand a brief to a person and receive a considered set of looks. Compare those experiences against what you need, rather than comparing an app subscription with a styling package as if they were the same service.

Try this before moving your whole closet

Write a brief with your destination, activities, laundry access and clothes you want to bring. Ask Cladwell for packing guidance, then read an Indyx stylist’s scope, turnaround and revision terms. Decide how much human involvement you want.

Coming in Cladwell 6.0

Forthcoming on iPhone and iPad. These are planned release features, separate from what you can download today. Availability depends on the released version, plan and rollout; Android timing may differ.

A new way to build outfits
Create and adjust looks from your closet, get suggestions and use an inspiration photo as a starting point.
More control over clothing photos
Improve photo offers AI cleanup for a clearer background, more even light and a straightened garment. Compare the result, choose it or keep the original. Background removal and replacing a photo are separate options.
A capsule plan you can use
Build a capsule roadmap around your style and needs, see outfit formulas and color roles, and turn the plan into a capsule in your closet.
Help with the pieces still missing
Explore suggested pieces and product options, with brands and budget settings to guide the search.
A closer look at your wardrobe
Ask styling questions from an item, explore closet insights and see AI usage in Settings.

These additions build on Cladwell’s existing catalog, outfit suggestions, stylist chat and wear tracking. A cleanup preview is an AI-generated image; check that it still represents your garment.

Costs and devices.

Cladwell

Cataloging your closet is free. Web subscriptions to Your Stylist cost $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (USD). Your Stylist adds paid styling guidance. Web purchases do not include a free trial. In-app prices and trial offers may differ by platform, region and eligibility. Check your purchase screen for the price, trial and cancellation terms that apply to you. Existing subscribers keep their current terms.

AI-powered features may have usage limits, including stylist chats, new outfit ideas, virtual try-ons, and recognizing clothes you add. Any allowance and reset details will be explained in your plan or in the app.

Indyx

Indyx lists free core wardrobe tools, a paid Insider membership and separately priced styling services. At the check date, Lookbook Mini started at $60 for three looks and Lookbook at $150 for ten. Confirm the selected stylist’s offer before booking.

Indyx supports iOS and Android. Its support page says a desktop version is not yet available.

Check Indyx’s current offering and Cladwell’s plan details. Compare the features and allowances you will actually use, not just the headline price.

Where Indyx may be better.

If working with a human is essential, Indyx is the more relevant starting point. Cladwell suits people comfortable using AI guidance and applying their own judgment. Neither service can replace trying on clothes to check comfort and fit.

You do not need to rebuild a working digital wardrobe just because another app has launched something new. Try a small selection first. Check how you can preserve your records before canceling or deleting an existing account; this guide does not promise a direct transfer between apps.

Sources and approach.

This is a comparison published by Cladwell, one of the products discussed. It uses the official product pages and support documentation below, checked October 19, 2026, plus Cladwell’s product documentation. We have not conducted a hands-on comparison of setup speed, image quality or outfit quality. Recommendations describe who each approach may suit.

Cladwell 6.0 is forthcoming and is labeled that way throughout. Competitor features, prices and availability can change. A feature not mentioned here should not be read as a feature the other app lacks.
