Start with the help you want.
Choose Cladwell if…
You want to skip photographing everyday basics where a catalog equivalent will do. Cladwell’s existing catalog, product-link entry and personal-photo option let you mix approaches. The forthcoming 6.0 Improve photo workflow adds more control when you do use your own images.
Consider Nouva if…
You like a numerical assessment of an outfit or a direct buying check. Nouva describes color-harmony scoring, a mirror-selfie Style Check and Shop Scan for comparing a possible purchase with your wardrobe. See Nouva’s offering.
Both generate outfits from owned clothes and can identify a gap. Nouva also starts from your wardrobe, so “uses your own clothes” is not an exclusive Cladwell advantage.
The differences that matter.

A closet you can start using.
Cladwell’s 15,000-item clothing catalog gives you a way to start without taking a photo of every piece. Choose an image that represents something you own, use a product link, or add a personal photo when the exact detail matters.
A catalog equivalent is useful for everyday basics. It may not capture the print, texture, cut or shade of your exact garment. You can combine catalog pieces with personal images rather than commit to one method for the whole closet.
Cladwell has been helping people make more of their wardrobes since 2016. That history is a reason to consider it; the useful test is still whether it helps you wear your clothes. Explore the current app.
How much detail does your starting closet need?
For a plain navy T-shirt, a close catalog equivalent may be enough to start planning. For a distinctive print, unusual neckline or exact shade, a personal image can be more useful. Cladwell’s practical advantage is having a catalog route alongside the option to add that extra detail.
Try this before moving your whole closet
Build a small, representative closet rather than uploading everything. Check whether a catalog equivalent communicates enough about each basic and whether your distinctive items need their own images. Then ask for a complete outfit you would wear tomorrow.
Coming in Cladwell 6.0
Forthcoming on iPhone and iPad. These are planned release features, separate from what you can download today. Availability depends on the released version, plan and rollout; Android timing may differ.
- A new way to build outfits
- Create and adjust looks from your closet, get suggestions and use an inspiration photo as a starting point.
- More control over clothing photos
- Improve photo offers AI cleanup for a clearer background, more even light and a straightened garment. Compare the result, choose it or keep the original. Background removal and replacing a photo are separate options.
- A capsule plan you can use
- Build a capsule roadmap around your style and needs, see outfit formulas and color roles, and turn the plan into a capsule in your closet.
- Help with the pieces still missing
- Explore suggested pieces and product options, with brands and budget settings to guide the search.
- A closer look at your wardrobe
- Ask styling questions from an item, explore closet insights and see AI usage in Settings.
These additions build on Cladwell’s existing catalog, outfit suggestions, stylist chat and wear tracking. A cleanup preview is an AI-generated image; check that it still represents your garment.
Costs and devices.
Cladwell
Cataloging your closet is free. Web subscriptions to Your Stylist cost $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (USD). Your Stylist adds paid styling guidance. Web purchases do not include a free trial. In-app prices and trial offers may differ by platform, region and eligibility. Check your purchase screen for the price, trial and cancellation terms that apply to you. Existing subscribers keep their current terms.
AI-powered features may have usage limits, including stylist chats, new outfit ideas, virtual try-ons, and recognizing clothes you add. Any allowance and reset details will be explained in your plan or in the app.
Nouva
Nouva lists a free plan with 20 uploaded items and weekly AI limits. Its website lists Plus at $6.99/month or $19.99 for three months in USD. Confirm your in-app price and allowances.
Nouva advertises iOS and Android availability.
Check Nouva’s current offering and Cladwell’s plan details. Compare the features and allowances you will actually use, not just the headline price.
Where Nouva may be better.
Nouva may suit you better if you find scores and a dedicated shopping verdict useful. Cladwell’s case is catalog-first convenience and personal guidance. A score is not an objective measure of taste, and we have not established that either app has the largest catalog or superior image quality.
You do not need to rebuild a working digital wardrobe just because another app has launched something new. Try a small selection first. Check how you can preserve your records before canceling or deleting an existing account; this guide does not promise a direct transfer between apps.
Sources and approach.
This is a comparison published by Cladwell, one of the products discussed. It uses the official product pages and support documentation below, checked October 19, 2026, plus Cladwell’s product documentation. We have not conducted a hands-on comparison of setup speed, image quality or outfit quality. Recommendations describe who each approach may suit.
Cladwell 6.0 is forthcoming and is labeled that way throughout. Competitor features, prices and availability can change. A feature not mentioned here should not be read as a feature the other app lacks.
